Janny’s Hoose opens its doors

Jean Mackay

AT LONG last we have moved into the Janny’s Hoose. It still looked a bit like a building site until very recently, but everything - or almost everything -was in place by the time we opened after the October break.

We have lots of activities on offer in the time up to Christmas…
Monday mornings see aromatherpay sessions in the Community Centre and Wednesday mornings - same place - has arts and crafts sessions. These two are joint activities with mp33 and WEA (Workers Education Association).
A creche is provided, but places must be booked in advance - so contact Roni at mp33 on 717639.
Mondays in the Janny’s Hoose between 9am and 10.30am is a drop-in opportunity for anyone who is worried about stress or anxiety, for themselves, their partners or their children.
Tuesdays between 9am and 11.30am we are running a coffee morning for people to find out what’s on and also to put in requests for activities in the Janny’s Hoose. This will be a chance to make new friends and to put forward your views on what you want from the Janny’s Hoose.
Wednesday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3pm will be weigh-in time for people trying to lose weight with lots of good ideas and encouragement.
Friday mornings 9.30 to 12-ish will be a chance to find out what’s cooking in the Janny’s Hoose -cooking and eating all sorts of tasty things like soups and budget dishes.
The second Thursday of the month will be for our walk, leaving the Janny’s Hoose at 10am, we stop for a cuppa somewhere along the way. Walks can be as short or as long as you feel like on the day - and depending on the weather too!
We also have a new member of staff: Maree will be here Monday to Thursday between 9am and 1pm to keep everything going smoothly.
More details of all our activities can be had from me or Maree at the Janny’s Hoose, or by phoning us at Inverness 226348.
