Welcome to November’s Merkinch News and Views. There is a lot of good news this month with the new Post Office opening just in time so we won’t have to queue outside in the winter. We also have news of exciting developments in South Kessock and on Benula Road where residents are really taking control of their surroundings.
Older people should read the article on how to get help with heating bills this winter. There’s no time to lose because 9 November is the deadline for getting your application in for Income Support, which could lead to a larger winter fuel payment.
As for me, well I’m new to the News and Views but not new to Merkinch. I grew up in the middle block of flats in Coronation Park, now called Quayside Court, and went to Merkinch Primary and Inverness High School. You may remember me from Highland dancing classes in the Community Centre. So drop in to the Merkinch Technology Centre at 2 Grant Street and remind me how bad I was. Remember to pass on your news and comments.
Susan Strachan.
