The Post Office Shop

Joan and Javed run the shop
Feeling lonely? Pop in for a chat.
Have you Problems? They’re always there,
To help and tell you where you’re at.

In these days of rushing and lack of care,
It’s nice to know their friendliness is always there.
It’s there for you and there for me,
A pleasure to shop there beyond compare.

The pensioners need a light bulb changed.
Javed, out with the tool set, rushes round.
The central heating, it breaks down.
Javed rushes round.

A phone call here a phone call there,
The heating soon is back in repair.
Without one frown.

The corner shop,
An institution to us all,
Would a supermarket ever be,
At our beck and call?

So let’s support,
Our local shop.
Spend the pennies,
Give it all we’ve got!

Maureen.
