SOUTH KESSOCK SET FOR BUMPER CHRISTMAS

Building work has started on the two new all weather sports pitches in the West Field. The South Kessock Community Safety Project said they hoped the basketball and football pitch will be ready for Christmas. The contractor’s, Frasers of Beauly, are also going to build another pitch with a special surface for rollerblading.

Naomi Knott, Assistant Project Manager, said: "I’m really pleased we have finally started building because the kids have been waiting a long time for this."

The Project is also about to launch the Tool Club. Construction giants Tullochs have donated a container and the Project are set to fill it with £4500 worth of gardening and DIY equipment. For a membership fee of £10 residents can borrow tools to do odd jobs themselves and wave goodbye to waiting in for the repair man.

The South Kessock Community Safety Project and their management committee the South Kessock Community Karers have another success on the horizon. For the past ten months they have been part of a steering group setting up a Community Mediation project for Inverness.

When the project is up an running it will provide a quick and confidential way of sorting out disagreements between neighbours without the expense and trouble of going to court.
