A BROWN Street flat dweller has complained that copies of News & Views have been popped through the broken glass panel of the entrance door to a block of flats and were being trampled underfoot. The reader felt that this could cause someone to slip - and we apologise if anyone has been hurt by this.

Many Merkinch flats have locked entrances. When there are letter boxes - great. We pop a copy in unless it is so full that we suspect the flat may be empty. Some flats have service buttons which allow access to our volunteers to deliver to each door - fine. Others have not.

In the past we used to press all the bells until someone answered. But this was felt to be unfair to the many people who work night shifts or may not want to be disturbed. So if you do not always get your community newsletter, do contact us and we’ll try and work some way round the problem.
