Vandalism - who pays?

Vandalism is a very obvious problem, it sticks out like a sore thumb. It ranges from broken glass in the road to smashed fences, broken windows and worse.

Whenever vandalism occurs, some sort of clean up is required. So who pays for this?

On a council estate the answer is obvious. The council is responsible for all maintenance and repairs, so the council pays.

So where does the council get the money to pay for these repairs? Some comes from the government, some comes from you and I as Council Tax payers. And even the government money comes from us in the end.

Every penny that is spent by the council comes from the people of this country, by one route or another. Every penny spent by the council on us was given by us first.

Additionally, every penny spent on unnecessary repairs is a penny that cannot be spent on other amenities, upgrades or leisure facilities.

So, who pays for vandalism? YOU do.
