Peter Corbett, Councillor for the Merkinch Ward is acquainting himself with various groups and organisations in the area and so far he has visited NCH, Merkinch Enterprise and Carsegate House. Peter has had meetings with Ramsay McGhee, Chief Superintendent with Highland Constabulary regarding policing in the Merkinch. The Community Council stated that they understood that since Ian Morrison left there has been a problem in getting an officer to take on the role voluntarily. It was acknowledged that the Police are trying to tackle the drugs problem in the area and that there have been five very successful drug raids recently.
