Early Birds back in breakfast action
THE highly successful Early Bird Breakfast Club resumed on 21st August. Insufficient funding had come through in time for the opening, however Merkinch Community Centre have kindly agreed to waive the rental of the Centre in the meantime, because of the value the scheme has for the participating youngsters. Moray Firth Radio has also been giving their support.

This year's summer holidays were action-packed for many of the youngsters from the local Community Schools area. A range of activities was on offer for 8-18 year olds, with over 350 young people taking part in white-water rafting, climbing and abseiling, canoeing, ropes courses, mountain biking, indoor sports and swimming. It is hoped that a similar programme will operate over the October school holidays.

A range of taster “Come and Try” activities is being planned at the Community Centre for adults. Hopefully these will include relaxation, aromatherapy, toning (bums and tums) and dance classes. Look out for posters with details of classes starting September. For further info, ring Karen McGraw, Community Education Worker, 01463 235554.
