Kirk Care gears up for annual fete

SATURDAY 1st September sees Kirk Care hold its annual Garden Fete with stalls and fortune-telling, teas, a raffle and face painting - all the fun of a good day out.

Last year the tenants and staff worked very hard and their fete - opened by former councillor and Senior Citizens Network stalwart Sheila Mackay - raised over £600. “Last year the tenants were absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of local people and businesses,” says Susan Simpson, project co-ordinator at Lower Kessock Street. This year they hope it will be even bigger and better.

The cash last year went towards enhancing their living environment and going on social outings. “This year they hope to do even better and aim to put much of the funds raised towards improving the garden at Lower Kessock Street,” says Mrs Simpson.
Kirk Care Housing Association is a registered charity which provides and manages quality housing and related services to the older people in the Merkinch. At Lower Kessock Street there are 36 flats, staffed 24 hours, 365 days a year.
