BROOK has restarted its advisory service on Monday afternoons from 2pm-4pm. Remember, the term “morning-after pill” is a misnomer - in fact, emergency contraception can be taken up to 72 hours (three days) after the event, though it may be less effective by then.

FOOTBALL and circuit training sessions continue to be on Thursday evenings from 8pm to 10pm, based at Merkinch Community Centre. Anyone else interested in seeing the team develop is always welcome.

IT IS hoped to re-start Drop-in Evenings soon at mp33 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Keep watching the window for dates.

THE Ante-natal Clinic is still at mp33 on Thursdays from 2pm-3pm until Craigton Avenue reopens.

Senior Youth Club reopens

THE Merkinch Senior Youth Club, controversially cancelled this spring because of staffing difficulties, is to reopen on Wednesday 12th September. The Community Centre-based club, which is open from 7.15pm to 9.15pm, is open to pupils from S1 and upwards.

The re-launching of the club has been made possible through mp33 and Community Education working together.
Says Gill, who is based at mp33, “This is a new session with new ideas, and if anyone has something in mind that they would like to do, please contact me any time after the 4th, when I get back from holiday. Or contact Margaret Mulholland at the New Community Schools office at the High School, tel 235554.”
