Volunteers sought to give TLC to wildlife garden

THE garden area at the Corbett Centre is in need of some loving care and attention, and local people are being invited to help Centre attenders bring it back to life.

The garden, first established by the Heat (Highland Environmental Action) group some eight years ago has been suffering from neglect - the once-proud totem poles, created with the help of artists from art.tm, guard paths which have become overgrown and scrubby growth in the wildlife garden.

“Because it’s a bit of a mess, the garden is inviting vandalism,” Jenny Sleeman, Munlochy-based North of Scotland development officer for the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers. “It needs clearing up and some planting, just a bit of attention and general maintenance.”

The Heat group at the Corbett Centre has around 10 members and anyone willing to volunteer a little of their time to help should contact Jenny at (01463) 811560 or speak to someone at the Centre.
