Make a difference with the WRVS

THE Women’s Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) is currently looking for volunteers - men as well as women - to help provide their shop and trolley service at Raigmore Hospital.

The shop at Raigmore is open Monday- Friday, 9am-8pm and weekends 12pm-8pm. The trolley service runs Monday to Friday 2-4pm. Duties include serving customers and handling cash.

Anne Mackenzie, project manager for WRVS at Raigmore said, “Joining our team at the shop is a great way to gain invaluable skills in a retail environment and getting out and about on the ward with the trolley is really rewarding…

“It’s that smile you bring to patients’ faces that says it all!”

“All it takes is a few hours of your time to ‘Make a Difference’,” Anne added. “Re-member, WRVS offer full support and training and reimburse all approved expenses, so you won’t be out of pocket!”

WRVS aims to help people maintain independence and dignity in their homes and communities, particularly in later life.

WRVS offers men and women over the age of 14 a variety of volunteering opportunities. Working throughout Great Britain for over 60 years, WRVS today is among the largest and most active voluntary organisations in the UK with over 100,000 members... 20% of whom are male!
