CORBETT Centre correspondent Michael Bolster reports that both attenders and staff were affected by the heat over recent weeks and some attenders on medication felt quite unwell, so shorts, sun hats and sunblock were the order of the day. The Corbett Centre was represented at Craigton Avenue’s open day where members of the Corbett VIP group ran the barbecue.

THE members of the Active Adults group want to thank everyone who helped them provide the cream teas at the Merkinch Gala on 2nd August. The group has enjoyed numerous outings this summer, most recently to the heritage museum in Strathspey. Currently they are drawing up a programme of talks and activities for the 2003/04 session.

RUTH Black, wife of Canon Len Black of St Michael’s, the Scottish Episcopal Church in Abban Street, is currently holding a one-woman show of 22 of her embroideries at Pictavia, near Brechin. Mrs Black is a member of the Pictish Art Society and all her designs stem from Pictish knot patterns and the carvings on Pictish stones. The exhibition runs until 30 September.
