Thanks for help in tracing our ‘china’

Dear Editor, Along with my colleagues - Joe Senior of Edinburgh, Jimmy Young and Nobby Clark of Inverness and last but not least Willie Green of Pretoria in South Africa - I would like to offer my sincere thanks to your newsletter for trying to locate, over the past months, Donald Mackenzie’s family.

Sadly Donald passed away some years ago, and this news has brought our search to an end, although not the end we would have wished for. Never mind, as the saying goes: “Old soldiers never die, they only fade away.”

Ald’s sister filled me in on Donald’s travels since leaving the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders, and this information will be forwarded to his colleagues who served with him in 12 Platoon.
Once again our most sincere thanks for your sterling work in assisting us to finally locate our “china”.

Yours sincerely,

William MacAulay,
Telford Road, Inverness
