is a farmer led organisation which was established in 1988 in an endeavour to maintain the high health status of the breeding and hill sheep flocks within the Highlands and Islands of Scotland by keeping Enzootic Abortion of Ewes (EAE) out of the area. The resultant hardy, healthy, EAE Accredited breeding sheep of our flockmasters are available to producers throughout the country.
identifies flocks which have been tested and are free from EAE. The flocks are monitored by the SAC Veterinary Science Division and only attain EAE Accredited status after having been tested and found to be free of this disease for a minimum of 2 years. The use of EAE Vaccines is not permitted and any abortions are investigated.
